Miami, Naples, Immokalee, Belle Glade, and Southwest Florida Face Another Cold Night With Apparent Temperatures Dropping Into the 20s

Miami, Naples, Immokalee, Belle Glade, and Southwest Florida Face Another Cold Night With Apparent Temperatures Dropping Into the 20s

UNITED STATES — Another night of cold weather is expected across South Florida, with inland and southwest areas facing the lowest apparent temperatures, according to updated guidance from the National Weather Service in Miami. While conditions will be slightly warmer than the past two nights, forecasters warn that dangerous cold persists through early Tuesday morning.

A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for most of South Florida until 9 a.m. Tuesday, with only Atlantic coastal zones currently excluded.

Inland and Southwest Florida Most at Risk Overnight

Forecast data shows a high probability (70–90% or greater) that apparent temperatures will fall to 35°F or below across much of Southwest Florida overnight.

The coldest conditions are expected in inland locations, where wind chill effects will drive apparent temperatures into the upper 20s and lower 30s.

Cities expected to see the lowest apparent temperatures include:

  • La Belle and Buckhead Ridge: around 29°F
  • Belle Glade: near 31°F
  • Immokalee: around 33°F
  • Everglades City: near 32°F

Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Coastal Areas Stay Cold but Slightly Warmer

While coastal areas avoid the most extreme cold, conditions will still be uncomfortable overnight. Forecast apparent temperatures show:

  • Miami: near 39°F
  • Fort Lauderdale: around 38°F
  • West Palm Beach: near 39°F
  • Homestead: around 35°F
  • Flamingo: near 35°F

Despite being warmer than inland zones, these readings remain cold enough to pose risks with prolonged exposure.

High Confidence in Cold Impacts Despite Modest Air Temperatures

Forecasters note that confidence is high in widespread cold impacts due to persistent low temperatures and wind effects. Even where air temperatures remain above freezing, apparent temperatures will feel significantly colder, especially overnight.

The National Weather Service warns that very cold apparent temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure, particularly for those without adequate protection.

Cold Weather Advisory Covers Most of South Florida

The Cold Weather Advisory applies to most of South Florida from Monday night through Tuesday morning. Only Atlantic coastal zones are currently excluded, though temperatures there will still be unseasonably cold.

Officials recommend residents:

  • Wear warm layers overnight and early Tuesday
  • Bring pets indoors and ensure warmth
  • Cover or bring sensitive plants inside
  • Check on vulnerable individuals

Cold Pattern Continues Into Tuesday Morning

The coldest conditions are expected overnight into early Tuesday morning, with gradual improvement after sunrise. However, lingering cool conditions will remain across the region through the morning hours.
