Arizona Man on E-Bike Accused of Killing Two People in Random Shootings, Including Victim Shot 11 Times While Sitting at a Bus Stop

ARIZONA — A 21-year-old Phoenix man is accused of carrying out a violent two-week shooting rampage while riding an e-bike, killing two strangers — one shot 11 times while sitting at a bus stop — and firing into a nearby home, according to investigators and grieving family members.

Phoenix police say Adalberto Pablo Cordova Torres, 21, is now charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of shooting at a residence after ballistic evidence connected him to three separate crime scenes spanning mid-to-late November.

A Shooting Spree Police Say Was “Completely Random”

Authorities report the first incident occurred on Nov. 11, when a homeowner near 16200 North 1st Drive awoke to find multiple bullet holes in their house. No one was injured, but investigators recovered shell casings that would later become key evidence.

The violence escalated on Nov. 24, when Marcus Adams, 45, was found around 3:15 a.m. near 19th Avenue and Greenway Road, having been shot nine times. Fourteen spent shell casings were collected at the scene.

Less than a week later, on Nov. 29, Andreas Olguin, 29, was gunned down at a bus stop near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road. Police say the shooter fired 11 rounds, leaving Olguin dead in what detectives now describe as a random, unprovoked attack.

Mother of Victim: “My Son Was Just Sitting at a Bus Stop”

Olguin’s mother, Toni Perez, spoke through heartbreak in an interview with local station KSAZ, saying detectives told her the shooter did not know her son.

“Never in a million years would I think my son would just be sitting at a bus stop and somebody would walk up and unleash the wrath for no reason,” Perez said.

“Nobody deserves this. I’m going to seek justice for my son and for Marcus. He deserves it, too.”

Police confirm both murders appeared to be entirely random, with no known connection between the victims and the suspect.

Ballistics, Surveillance Video Helped Investigators Connect All Three Cases

According to Phoenix PD, investigators recovered similar 9mm shell casings at each location. Once the ballistic analysis was complete, detectives discovered that all three shootings were linked to the same weapon.

A police press release stated:

“Once the ballistic evidence from the three cases was fully processed, a correlation between the cases was found and all three were linked through this ballistic evidence.”

Surveillance footage reportedly captured Cordova Torres riding an electric bicycle, approaching both Adams and Olguin, and then fleeing immediately after opening fire.

Court documents obtained by KTVK describe video showing the suspect slowly approaching each victim before firing multiple rounds at close range.

Suspect Worked Near All Crime Scenes and Rode an E-Bike to Each Attack

Detectives say Cordova Torres worked at a business located 2 to 8 miles from the shooting locations. His employer allegedly confirmed he was working night shifts during the time frame when the murders occurred.

Police believe he used the e-bike to quickly move between crime scenes under cover of darkness.

Cordova Torres is being held on a $3 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 11.
