New Hampshire YouTuber Who Mowed Down Officer in High-Speed Confrontation Accepts Plea Deal as Injured Cop Says His Life Was ‘Permanently Altered’
NEW HAMPSHIRE — A well-known YouTuber with nearly 3 million subscribers has accepted a plea deal after running down a police officer with his Jeep during what he later described as a “massive misunderstanding,” but what prosecutors called a near-fatal assault on law enforcement.
Erik Conover, 36, known for his “Luxury Listings” and spiritual-architecture content, pleaded guilty to assault and reckless conduct—charges downgraded from attempted murder. He was sentenced Friday to 4 to 10 years in state prison, a decision that Bartlett Patrol Officer Cameron Emmett strongly condemned in court.
Officer Says He Was ‘Run Down’ During a Routine Traffic Stop
The March 15 incident began when Officer Emmett was conducting an unrelated traffic stop along a 35-mph road in Bartlett. That’s when Conover allegedly sped past at 55–60 mph, prompting Emmett to pursue him.
After police boxed in the YouTuber’s vehicle, Emmett exited his cruiser—only for Conover to throw his Jeep in reverse, allegedly aim directly at the officer, and accelerate, striking him so hard that Emmett was launched 20–40 feet, according to testimony from Bartlett Police Sgt. Brian Moffitt.
A bystander drone operator happened to be in the air and captured the collision on video, footage prosecutors say was critical to securing the conviction.
“A police officer being run down during the course of duty is not a minor incident,”

Cop Delivers Emotional Statement: ‘My Life Was Permanently Altered’
Emmett addressed the court Friday, telling the judge that he continues to live with the physical and psychological fallout of being struck at high speed.
“I want the court to understand that the harm done was not temporary, and it was not minor.
My life was permanently altered.”
He also expressed frustration that the plea deal did not reflect the severity of the attack.
“This is not the outcome I hoped for, and not the outcome that reflects the severity of what happened.”
Conover Claims Mental Health Crisis — A Shift From His Earlier Courtroom Outburst
In court Friday, Conover apologized and claimed he was experiencing an acute bipolar manic episode that impaired his judgment.
“I deeply regret my actions… I was suffering from a mental health acute bipolar manic episode that contributed to my decision-making that day.”
His defense team said Conover genuinely believed the officer intended to harm him when approaching his Jeep.
This version sharply contrasts with Conover’s bail hearing behavior, where he reportedly declared:
“I will eviscerate every single person with my intelligence right now.”
He also accused troopers of brutality and initially claimed he was not the same Erik Conover involved in the crash.
YouTuber Known for Luxury Real Estate and ‘Quantum Design’ Content
Conover—who also goes by Eric Van Conover—built a massive online following with high-production real estate tours and videos themed around:
- Architecture
- “AI-consciousness evolution”
- Sacred geometry
- “Energetic resonance” homes
His channel bio describes his content as exploring properties infused with “frequency-based intelligence” and “quantum design principles.”
Court Orders Mental Health Treatment as Part of Sentence
As part of the plea agreement, Conover must receive ongoing mental health treatment while incarcerated.
The officer he injured says the plea does not bring revenge—but is meant to emphasize the seriousness of attacking law enforcement.
“A police officer being run down is not a misunderstanding. It is a crime.”
Conover will be eligible for parole after serving the minimum four years.
