New York Man Accused of Stabbing Parents to Death Inside Longtime Family Deli in Bethpage

BETHPAGE, NEW YORK — A 30-year-old Long Island man is accused of brutally murdering his parents inside their family’s beloved Italian deli, shocking a community that had supported the business for more than three decades.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, Vito Dambrosio has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after investigators say he fatally stabbed his mother, Angela Pulisciano, 62, and his father, Antonio Dambrosio, 70, during a violent confrontation Thursday morning inside A&A Italian Deli and Pizza.

Parents Found Fatally Stabbed Behind the Counter

Police say the attack unfolded inside the deli’s back room where the family was preparing for the day’s business. Investigators found both victims behind the counter — each suffering stab wounds to the throat.

Angela died at the scene. Antonio was rushed to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives described the moment officers arrived around 9 a.m. after receiving a call about a man standing outside with blood on his hands and clothing.

He had blood on his hands and blood on his clothing,” said Nassau Det. Lt. George Darienzo during a Friday press briefing.

Witnesses said Dambrosio appeared disturbingly calm.

One longtime customer recalled hearing the suspect say, “I stabbed my parents,” before walking out of the store.

Suspect’s Troubled History and Morning of Violence

Police say the younger Dambrosio had recently become estranged from his family, following a domestic dispute that led to an order of protection filed by a sibling earlier in November.

Authorities also revealed that minutes before the stabbing, Dambrosio allegedly entered a nearby coffee shop and slapped an employee on the backside, prompting another police report.

Officers arrested him outside the deli. A witness told reporters:

He was just standing there like nothing happened. But when they cuffed him, you could see the blood on his hands.

Dambrosio was transported to a hospital for evaluation and later arraigned from his hospital bed, where he pleaded not guilty. He has been ordered held without bail.

Community Devastated by Loss of Beloved Couple

News of the double homicide spread quickly across Bethpage, drawing residents to the deli’s parking lot to mourn the couple described as kind, generous, and devoted to their customers.

They would give you the shirt off their back,” one mourner said.
If you didn’t have money, they’d tell you to pay later. They treated everyone like family. This is heartbreaking.

A GoFundMe created to support the family remembers the victims as hardworking immigrants who built their business “with love, humility, and pure dedication.”
