NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — A 41-year-old armed suspect is accused of forcing two men into the trunk of a Ford Fusion in broad daylight outside a Nashville gas station — only for one victim to call 911 from inside the trunk, guiding officers straight to their location and leading to the suspect’s arrest.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department announced that Jericco McFarland was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery, and felon in possession of a weapon.

Police say McFarland drove roughly one mile to Lischey Avenue, where he opened the trunk — but he was now joined by another armed man.

Both suspects allegedly:

  • Pistol-whipped the victims
  • Stole their belongings, including jewelry
  • Even took one victim’s pants during the robbery

Officers, tracking the emergency call, moved in as the attackers fled on foot. The victims remained locked in the trunk — injured but alive.

The second gunman has not been identified.

Suspect Arrested in Grocery Store Parking Lot

On Tuesday, detectives spotted McFarland in a grocery store parking lot. He was arrested without incident.

Inside the vehicle he was driving, officers allegedly found a loaded revolver.
